MARTINA SILVESTER

As an orchestral musician, Martina Silvester has worked with many renowned orchestras, under conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Valery Gergiev, Krzysztof Penderecki, Friedrich Haider, Shlomo Mintz, Pavel Klinichev, Markus Poschner and Ariel Zuckermann. In addition to her work as an orchestral player, she enjoys performing as a chamber musician in a wide variety of formations.

 

Following her studies in Munich and Paris, she completed postgraduate studies in Baroque flute and took lessons in improvisation.

 

Together with pianist Susanna Klovsky, she founded Ensemble Clazzic in 2009. Since 2014 she has been performing together with harpist Feodora-Johanna Mandel as “Duo Naiades“, collaborating on a regular basis with composer Uri Brener in Israel. In 2018, Martina Silvester founded the “Trio Leilani” together with cellist Katerina Giannitsioti. In 2017, Martina made her debut in Japan as a soloist, together with the Münchener Bach-Orchester, and she performed in prestigious concert halls such as the Tokyo Opera City Hall and the Izumi Hall in Osaka.

 

Martina Silvester is an endorser for the Japanese flute company Miyazawa.

 

This charismatic and versatile flutist is also known for her pedagogical talents, and she regularly gives master classes at home and abroad.
